AI, Finance, Future?
This is a blog about what’s actually changing inside banks, advisory firms, private equity, and across the origination economy, written by two people who spend most of their time arguing about it anyway, so we figured we’d write it down.
What to expect
Takes on AI-driven deal origination, relationship intelligence, the death of SaaS, and where capital markets tech and fintech are headed. No fixed schedule. Published when we have something worth saying.
Who’s behind it
The founders of Debreu. We’re building a full-stack solution for dealmaking in the agentic world.
Lucy Lu came up through investment banking at JPM, Lazard, and Scotiabank, where she cold-emailed executives, crashed industry conferences, burned the midnight oil on M&A trackers, and spent hours stitching together client context between inboxes, spreadsheets and brute-force memory. She's now trying to set her fellow Patagonia-wearing finance friends free.
Z Wang grew up at Uber’s self-driving program, built compliance for crypto brokerage, and led a data platform team at an a16z-backed, Series C fintech, where he supported a $100B contract pipeline. He recently learned what EBITDA is exactly, and is fascinated by LBOs.
Who’s Debreu?
Debreu was a professor at Berkeley where Z went to school; sadly they didn't overlap. He (Debreu) won the Nobel Prize and came up with general equilibrium theory.
